In the morning on November 9, at Cần Thơ city people’s committee Hall, Cần Thơ city department of culture-sports and tourism organized the departure ceremony for the sport team of Cần Thơ city to the 7th national sport-gymnastics competition in 2014. Mr. Lê Hùng Dũng, Chairman of Cần Thơ city people’s committee, members of the city party committee standing board and leader representatives of units in the city came to attend.
The 7th national sport-gymnastics competition in 2014 will officially take place in Nam Định province, from Dec 6-16. The event has 36 sports. The team of Cần Thơ city with 140 athletes will compete at 18 sports, with the determination of 70-75 medals of various kinds. Of which, there must be 20-25 gold medals and the team must be in the top 10.
Mr. Lê Văn Tâm, vice- chairman of the city people’s com emphasized that the team needs to try their best to well complete their tasks. The fund for developing high-achievement sports of Cần THơ city will reward 15 million VND for individuals and 30 million VND for groups winning gold medals.
