In the evening on July 11th, Vị Thanh city, Hậu Giang province, the Steering Committee for Southwestern Region chairs and coordinates with ministries, the Central sectors and People’s Committees of 13 provinces and cities of the Southwestern Region to open the Mekong Delta Economic Cooperation Forum or MDEC Hậu Giang 2016.
Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ – Politburo Member, Chief of the Steering Committee for Southwestern Region, leaders and former leaders of the State and the Party, leaders of the Steering Committee for Southwestern Region, ministries, the Central sectors, localities in Mekong Delta, international delegations and ambassadors came to attend.
Opening speech, Mr. Vương Đình Huệ highly values success of the MDEC forum over 8 years.
At once, he hopes that through the forum, localities, units, international delegations, scientists, investors, enterprises, and people in Mekong Delta will continue proposing mechanism and policies, with the aim of promoting connection and cooperation among localities, ministries, investors inside and outside country in order to enhance cooperation and develop potentials and strengths of the region for the region’s sustainable and safe development.
At the opening ceremony, they offered gold tables to enterprises, who contribute to social security tasks in the region, enjoy arts performances and special items.
The MDEC Hậu Giang 2016 will close on July 15th, with important workshops and conferences./.
