In the afternoon on June 5th, the opening for the Indonesian cultural festival officially took place at Cantho university in Cantho city.
The festival is jointly held by the alliance of Cantho city Friendship organizations, Cantho university and Cantho city Youth union and the Indonesian general embassy in Vietnam. Sir. Jean Anes- general consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Ho Chi Minh city, vice chairman of Cantho city people’s committee Truong Quang Hoai Nam and leaders of departments, sectors of the city and over 500 delegates who are students, youth union members, young men of Cantho city and Indonesia.
This is the 1st time Indonesia has organized the Indonesian cultural festival in Cantho. The festival is held with the aim to further tighten the solidarity, friendship, enhance the understanding of the different cultures of the 2 countries between the peoples of Vietnam and Indonesia in general, Cantho and Indonesia in particular in the lead up to an ASEAN common community. This is also the chance to celebrate the 60th year of the VN- Indonesia foreign relation. Within the framework of the festival, there are activities like display- exhibition of cultural heritages, food- drink, and fashion of Indonesia
